Since I last wrote, I was able to get the Anesthesia MRI. Dr. Thomas said that even though there has been changes to my spine, it's just degeneration (aka arthritis) so I'm not eligible to get on Disability. I know people who are worse off than me that can't get on it, but he said he'd see if he could refer me to a pain specialist.

I have not had time to write, because I moved. I lived in the same duplex for 14 years. I moved across town into a senior living apartment complex (it's 4.7 miles from the duplex.) Since it's on the West side of town, it's closer to everywhere I always go to, which is better. However, it is smaller and I still have no idea what I'm going to do with all this stuff. If you've lived in the same place five years, start downsizing now. Even if you aren't planning to move.

As you know, reader, all of my eBooks are on Smashwords and Kindle. However, "in 2023, per the plan Smaswords laid out at the acquisition in 2022, Draft2Digital began migrating the book publishing and distribution options of Smashwords over Draft2Digitial. The plan is to transition Smashwords to become a store only. Yay!"*

Since Smashwords is going to become a store only, I haven't had a chance to discover what will happen when I publish a new book to Draft2Digitial. The other day, I received an couple of emails from D2D stating that some of my ebooks have been published at places I've never heard of.

The new apartment supplies "free" AT&T WiFi, but I can't get online, and if I do, I can't stay online. So, Wednesday I went to the neighborhood store and got my own account. The Apartment manager told me Friday that she talked to her boss about it, and they're going to see what they can do. However, the technician is in Dallas, so who knows when/if they'll come fix it. As much as I do online, it's probably going to be best for me to just keep my own account. Probably more secure, also. I did receive my equipment Friday and got it set up. So hopefully, I'll be able to get the account set up this week and I'll be able to let you know if the transition effects you. What I've read so far, is that any book that we've "purchased" will remain in our Smashwords Store account. I just don't know if when I publish something to D2D, if it'll just go over to Smashwords. They're currently telling us not to publish anything until they get it set up. But, meanwhile, you can hang onto the links below for my books at Smashwords, as well as my MathisBRogers.com address.

Thank you again for being a valued reader, reader. As soon as I get settled, I'll get back to writing. I have ideas for a "Prequel" to the Halloween Night part of the Halloween Night/Golden Locket Collection Series. In Halloween Night, Shane is 22, I think. In the prequel he'll be 14 and still in high school. I also have an idea for a mystery, where the main character is able to talk to animals, and his boyfriend is a police officer. He meets an owl at the cemetery gate, and the owl tells him there's a Corpse in the Cemetery. But, don't worry, I will finish Hot-Rod Magazine before anything else. I am planning on having it only 50 chapters, and, before I skipped Chapter 21, I was working on Chapter 47. So, once I can get back to work on it, there should be a light at the end of the tunnel.
