Happy Mother's Day
If your father is still around, reader, I hope you get to spend time with him, and you have a great time. If he's not, I hope you find someone special to spend the day with.
If you are a father, reader, I hope you can spend some time with your child(ren).
My father and I never got along. Mother said he wanted two boys. He got my older brother and me, and didn't want anything to do with either of us. My brother did get along with him better and spent more time with him then me.
He and I had a great visit at Christmas in December of 1991, before he died in January 1992. I have no regrets and no wishing I had told him something I never did.
Although my daughter lives in Spokane Valley, WA, we text every day, and we talk on the phone occasionally. I haven't seen her in person since 2011, but we have a great relationship.

Lubbock Pride Fest will be June 22nd—Saturday. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about it until yesterday, so I wasn't able to get a booth to sell my books. The deadline was yesterday. I'd have to order some print books, and I wouldn't get them in time for the event. Also, it's going to be really hot, so I probably won't even attend the festival.
Smashwords Summer/Winter Sale will be the entire month of July. In my last email, I told you that Smashwords had partnered with Draft2Digital, and I wasn't sure what would happen with my (or everyone else's) books. It turns out that Smashwords will just be the bookstore. We—authors—will publish to D2D and they will put the books in the store at Smashwords. If you have an account with Smashwords and have "purchased" my books (or anyone else's) you will still have your account and your purchases will remain there. Your password should not change.
Previously, I always set my eBooks to 1/2 price, and anything marked 99¢, I would leave at 99¢, but it looks like this year, they're forcing anything that is 99¢ to be free.
Thank you for being a valued reader, reader, I will let you know when I finish Chapter 21 of Hot-Rod Magazine.
