Hi ,

As you know, I’ve been working in the Suddenlink call center since September. Altice USA outsourced Billing and Tech Support to Ivox in Florida, in January. Ivox got rid of our manager in March, because he’d been with Suddenlink for 20 years and was making more money than anyone at Ivox. At the end of April, they let three of the Supervisors go. Friday, they let two more Supervisors and the two Quality Assurance agents go. They didn’t give any of them any notice, they just said goodbye.

Yesterday, they changed everyone’s schedules, so today I start working 1:30-10:00 PM with Wednesday and Sunday off. Off Sunday because we’re closed on Sunday. Since I’ve been working Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 7:30, I’ve been losing my voice around 2:30 every day. It’s one call after another.

One of the two remaining Supervisors told me yesterday that we need to be looking for another job and get out as soon as possible, because he feels that we’ve got maybe four to six weeks before they close the call center and he doesn’t believe they’ll give us any notice. Ivox made several promises when they hired us that they have not followed through on. I have been searching frantically for a job since December, but am not having any luck. I do hope and pray that I can get one before they shut us down because I do not want to go back on unemployement.

Now that I’ll only be working eight hours a day, maybe I’ll have more time and energy to get back to work on The Chronicles of Brad.

Thanks for being a valued reader, .

I’ll keep you informed.
