Thankful
Hello, ,

If you are in either Canada or the US, I hope you had/have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

If you are elsewhere, I hope you have a great weekend, and are enjoying the fall/spring.

I do have a lot to be thankful for this year.

We haven't had any snow here yet, but we did get flurries one morning. Areas north of us did get 4-6 inches, and I've seen 22 degrees Fahrenheit a few mornings. Thankfully, there hasn't been any icy roads to deal with, now that I have to drive 7.2 miles to work and back every day.

Writing Update

I am able to write about 20-30 minutes on my lunch hour. Having a 3-day weekend is great, but I have a couple of elderly friends who can't drive, that I've been taking to the store on Friday and Saturday, so that's keeping me from getting a lot of writing done on the weekends. Therefore, I'm still unable to set a deadline for myself and give you a release date for The Chronicles of Brad.

Job Update

I did finally find a job working at Suddenlink, which is our local cable/internet/phone company, in the call center for Billing and Tech Support. I am working from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and have an hour for lunch and three breaks. But this job is keeping me from attending my local critique group that meets every Tuesday evening. However, it does allow me to attend the meetings in Amarillo the third Saturday of each odd numbered month—which my previous job didn't allow.

The Future

Altice USA bought out Suddenlink about three years ago. They notified us October 30th, that my department is going to be outsourced to Ivox in Florida on the 12th of January. They assured us that we were able to keep our jobs and the only thing that will change is who is signing our pay checks—we'll believe that when w see it. Altice USA is also going to give us 4-week's severance pay, but we have to stay until January 11th to get it. My department manager and team lead are going to stay and accept the job at Ivox, and hopes everyone else does, too. I did tell my team lead the other day that I wasn't leaving.

Thank you!

Again, , I hope you are doing well, and I'll keep you informed about both the job and The Chronicles of Brad.

Thanks for being a valuable reader,
Mathis...
